Saturday, September 6, 2008: Watched TV: Saw two-part TV movie Le Rouge et le Noir (Jean-Daniel Verhaeghe. When I was fourteen I became obsessed with the novel (and those two colors -- never got over that). One of the best ever, all centuries and all countries considered, surely. This adaptation is alright. Takes a few liberties, leaves a few important aspects of the novel aside. If you don't know the novel it's a good TV movie. Very pleasing to the eye.
