Desperate Housewives quote

Desperate Housewives quote:
Milton: You seem remarkably composed.
Gabrielle: Oh no, no, I'm a mess. You know, on the inside. Where the mascara can't run.

Went to see Appaloosa

Went to see Appaloosa (Ed Harris, 2008). Yipee. Yeehaw, I mean. Hurrah for the revival of the western. Thank you Ed. My dad must go see it (remember when we faced each other in the corridor, wearing our ponchos, playing at who would draw faster?). I had such a great time. The acting is to die for (Ed Harris and, even more so, Viggo Mortensen -- Jeremy Irons and Renée Zellweger are fine here but not as stupendous). This western is mostly about language and male friendship (the scene at the counter!). It's also about appropriating a genre to perfection. Very meta without being egghead, a million times better than The Assassination of Jesse James...

Watched TV: Saw Premonition

Watched TV: Saw Premonition (Mennan Yapo, 2007). Yawn. I like Bullock better in romantic comedies. Too Christian for my taste. Talking about Christian, nice seeing Julian McMahon in a movie.

Watched TV: Saw Georgia Rule

Watched TV: Saw Georgia Rule (Garry Marshall, 2007). Appalling French title Mère fille mode d'emploi. Very good movie indeed. Excellent acting. Divine Jane Fonda (I have never entirely recovered from Barbarella and They Shoot Horses, Don't They?, have you?). Excellent Felicity Huffman, as always (remember her stratospheric acting in Transamerica?). Even Lindsay Lohan is good, and her voice gets better and better every year (deeper and deeper). This movie has quite a lot to say about gender and mother-daughter relationships. The picture of smalltown America is sweet without being condescending.

High School Musical stars, Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Corbin Bleu, and Ashley Tisdale received heart-shaped giant cookies decorated with their names written on frosting at the German premiere of the High School Musical 3: Senior Year in Munich, Germany.

The cookies are called Lebkuchen that are actually bags made to look like giant cookies.

2008 Halloween Costumes: Fashion Trick or Treat

We've only got 24 days before Halloween! I think it's high time to look for the hottest and fashion-inspired Halloween costumes. Well, the search is over as I present to you the new Halloween costumes by Party City, they are heavily influenced by what we see on the fashion runways, in the movies and on TV. According to Melissa Sprich, Party City Merchandise Manager of Costumes and Accessories, they have taken the best of fashion influences and shaped them into a finest costume collection yet.

Party City has led the Halloween costume industry by collaborating with designers and manufacturers to incorporate the latest fashion and pop cultures trends. For a start, Snow White, Tinkerbell and Wicked Witch of the West have undergone a couture makeover. Their designers have created the trendiest costumes for this year's Halloween season that features sleeker silhouettes, softer fabrics and hot, must-have accessories.

Women are not the only ones who will enjoy the style flares this coming Halloween. Party City has also costumes for girls, boys and men. Batman:The Dark Knight, Star Wars: Clone Trooper, Transformers and Iron Man are among the top costumes for males. High School Musical’s Sharpay and Gabriella and the sensationally-popular Hannah Montana are expected to be the favorites for girls.

Visit the Party City website for a sneak peek at this year’s most popular Halloween costumes and trends.

Keeping a Look Out For the Dove of Peace

The photos in the media player below are ones I took of the clouds in the park where I walk. I wanted to share with you in a different way the peace that I felt while walking. I am trying something new with a bit of help from a site I found called One True Media. I hope your Sunday and the days of the week ahead are filled with peace. (You may want to wait to let this load for a bit before you hit play.)
